Mill Creek Pink Sale
- Mill Creek wears pink to honor the life of librarian Beverly Keegan who passed away from breast cancer in September 2012. Mrs. Keegan was a force of love to the teachers, students, and families of the Mill Creek Community. Her humor, spirit, and the way she connected with others fostered a love of reading to hundreds of children throughout her time at Mill Creek. We thank you for continuing to celebrate her life and all she contributed to Mill Creek. All proceeds from the apparel sale will be donated to her daughter Molly Keegan’s Scholarship Fund. As Mrs. Keegan would say, “Love Wins.” Any questions about sizing or orders can reach out to Tonya Nghiem tmk79@aol.com
Principal's Post - A Weekly Note From Mr. Ortman
Don't forget your Photo ID when you come to The Creek!
On June 4, 2018, the Central Bucks School District began implementation of a new computerized visitor management and entry buzzer system. The purpose of this system is to continue to enhance school security and safety. Introduction of the new safety protocol in June allowed the district to observe and evaluate both the equipment and the process. We have refined elements of the system. The information below will provide you with details about these new systems.
All 23 schools will now have an additional external buzzer. When you arrive at Mill Creek, you will be asked to identify yourself and the purpose of your visit to main office personnel. At that time you may be asked to show photo ID. Once the door is unlocked, you may enter the vestibule where you will be subsequently “buzzed” into the office area. If your visit includes entry to our school beyond the office area, you will be assisted by the receptionist utilizing the School Gate Guardian system. The receptionist will ask for your valid state issued driver’s license or Passport. Visitors who are unable to provide valid ID will be prompted to share identifying personal information for access to the individual’s profile through the School Gate Guardian system.
The system checks the name, photo, and date of birth of the visitor, and compares this identity with the national sex offender registry. If a positive match occurs, district personnel will be immediately and discreetly alerted. To prevent false positives, the system compares a photograph of the actual registered sex offender to the visitor. Central Bucks School District is storing the minimally required data with regard to the new visitor management system: photo, first name, middle name, last name, suffix and date of birth. We are not storing driver’s license numbers and we maintain the highest level of security protocols for the protection of this data.
The visitor management system will print a visitor label. As you leave the school, you will be required to exit through the main office to return your badge and be scanned out of the system.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding as we implement these increased security upgrades. With your support, we continue to improve school safety for our students and staff.
Sincerely,
Mr. Shawn OrtmanPrincipal

Happy Friday Creekers!
Have you heard about Creekers' Code? Creeker's Code is our school-wide positive behavior approach that was student created and continues to be student modeled. Each letter of CREEKERS stands for an important character trait that all Creekers should demonstrate at school and in the community!
Cooperation
Respect
Excellence
Effort
Kindness
Empathy
Responsibility
Support
Every adult in the building has Creekers' Code tickets to nominate students demonstrating the traits during the school day! Each Friday we select one student from each grade level for special recognition. Check the weekly newsletters to see our weekly Creekers' Code nominees.
In addition to our weekly drawings, we have daily conversations about the character traits and start our day with our Creekers' Code pledge! Ask your child(ren) about Creekers' Code!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Amy Adelman
Assistant Principal
News from The Art Room
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Hope everyone had a great summer and are ready for an exciting year in art class!!
Please assume that each week we will be using messy materials in art class, so do not wear best clothing. Students should bring a smock or old t-shirt to store in their teacher’s room for art days. All students are to bring their own pencils to art class.
All 4th, 5th and 6th graders are required to have a small (9”x12”) sketchbook. The sketchbooks are used for note taking; project planning and sketchbook assignments as well as free drawing. Not required, but recommended is for 1st – 3rd grade to have sketchbooks as well. The one sketchbook can be used from year to year, and it will become a great record of progress!
Throughout the year we will be working on many new and exciting projects! I do my best to return projects in a timely manner, but please be aware that I may be saving artwork for a school or community display.
Looking forward to a wonderful year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Schubert
