The Mission of the Puente Program

How does Puente help students?
- Work with a Puente counselor to create an Academic Four Year Plan.
- Puente counselor will provide academic advising and helps prepare them for college admissions.
- Introduces students to career opportunities and conducts career guidance lessons.
- Provides students with social & emotional support.
- Puente students will take college preparatory English academic classes in the 9th & 10th grades that integrates Latino and multicultural literature into the core curriculum. Puente students are in classes with the same students for two years.
- Engage in leadership and cultural activities. Students have the opportunity to visit a range of colleges and universities.

Dual Enrollment Courses
- Dual Enrollment courses can be taken by freshmen students
- Dual Enrollment will raise your students GPA to make them competitive for college.
- Dual Enrollment courses can be taken online or in-person, and they occur afterschool only two days a week.
