“My Weld RE-4 Hero” - Weld RE-4 Education Foundation 2019 Essay Contest
In our Weld RE-4 community, we have many different individuals who have an impact on our students’ education on a daily basis: teachers, administrators, counselors, bus drivers, crossing guards and other staff members. They all play an important part in creating an environment for innovation and success for our students. They are all educational “heroes” in many ways.
As part of celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, the Weld RE-4 Education Foundation is inviting all students enrolled in the Weld RE-4 School District to participate in our annual essay contest, telling us about a special “Weld RE-4 Hero.” Essays will be judged based on the quality and sincerity of the student’s writing (taking into consideration the student’s grade level) and the compelling story of how the featured hero has made a difference for that student.
Thank a Teacher Program
Over the past 6 years, the Foundation has raised more than one million dollars to put countless more tools for innovation and collaboration into the hands of our students. Those tools include over a thousand Chromebook computers and iPads, musical instruments, 3D printers, robotics equipment, and so much more. As part of Teacher Appreciation Week in May, we invite you to participate in our sixth annual “Thank a Teacher” program, through which you can honor your child’s teacher(s) in a unique way and help us continue this important mission to foster innovation and empower success in our schools.
Announcement from Superintendent Seegmiller
Dear Windsor Middle School Community,
We are pleased to announce that we have selected Elizabeth Urich to serve as Windsor Middle School’s principal starting in 2019-2020. Ms. Urich comes to us from Greeley-Evans School District 6, where she currently serves as an Assistant Principal of Dos Rios and has held various teaching and leadership positions over the past 13 years. Ms. Urich has a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies and has earned a reputation in District 6 as a thoughtful leader who is student-focused.
Throughout the interview process, Ms. Urich’s passion for our school district, and Windsor Middle School in particular, stood out. She has extensive experience working with students with a variety of needs. We are confident in her ability to ensure that the Windsor Middle School community fulfills its potential to inspire innovation and empower success. Our confidence comes, in part, from her dedication to relationships, which has been essential to our success at Weld RE-4. During the selection process Ms. Urich connected easily with Windsor Middle School students, making a very strong impression on them. When the offer was extended to Ms. Urich, she stated, "I am honored to join the Weld RE-4 team and the incredible work that is going on at Windsor Middle School! I would like to be accessible so please provide my email." Feel free to reach out to her starting next week at elizabeth.urich@weldre4.org.
We look forward to introducing Ms. Urich to the entire Windsor Middle School community through an open-house event before the end of the year. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Dan Seegmiller
Weld RE-4 School District Superintendent
