Routines and Procedures

As we begin our week after break, remember to take some time on Monday and during the week to remind our Ponies of procedures, rules and expectations. Explain, model, and reinforce positive behavior.

A Minute with the LASes REMINDERS...

Teachers:
Please join us for a TELPAS "Rating Party" in the Think Spot on Monday, March 19, during your conference time. We will have snacks, sweets, and plenty to drink! We will be there to answer any questions and to share last years TELPAS data if needed.

Spanish teachers in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade - The window for the Assessment of Spanish Learners' progress is from Monday, Feb 26 to March 30:
The ratings must be done by March 30 and be in Aware by April 6.

Celebrating our teachers in the accomplishments of Campus Improvement Plan Goals!

Kudos to Mrs. Wier for developing academic vocabulary words and oral language in her students throughout cooperative structures.


Goal 1: Performance Objective 1

During 2017-18 Lewisville ES students, Kinder through 5th grade, will engage in relevant language development experiences embedded within each content area that are aligned with the standards and prepare them to apply their learning in their next grade level.


Kudos to Mrs. Mcgraw for providing her students with hands on relevant science experiences.


Goal 1: Performance Objective 5

During 2017-18 Lewisville ES students, Kinder through 5th grade, will engage in relevant science learning experiences that are aligned with the standards and prepare them to apply their learning in their next grade level. By June 2018, Science scores on STAAR will increase by 10% from June 2017.


Kudos to Mrs. Varona for providing her students with relevant standards aligned math experiences.

During 2017-18 Lewisville ES students, Kinder through 5th grade, will engage in relevant math problem-solving experiences that are aligned with the standards and prepare them to apply their learning in their next grade level specifically focusing on our special education and male population.

Imagine Learning - Think Through Math

LVES Ponies deserve praise for utilizing time during Spring Break to work on their math problem-solving skills. Friday afternoon, March 9th, our Ponies had passed 6,853 lessons in TTM. By Saint Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17th, an additional 91 TTM lessons had been passed. :-)

Resource Round-Up

Due to high demand, we were able to purchase a few more copies of The Next Step Forward in Guided Reading by Jan Richardson!


If you are interested in this resource and how to best utilize it in your classroom, please stop by the Think Spot and talk to me, Stephanie Sanchez. I can check out a copy for you and together we can brainstorm best uses for you and your students.

Staff Team building Game!

We want to invite you to participate in a team building activity on Thursday March 22nd at 3:40 (after tutoring).

Requirements:

Entire grade level or department members must participate to win. (Office Staff, Special Education Teachers, Instructional Support Staff and Instructional Specialists: You have your teams, as well.)


Prizes:

  • One week of jeans passes for the entire team.
  • One ream of copy paper for each member of the team.
  • Favorite sonic drink for each member of the team.
