2nd Semester Virtual vs Hybrid Choice
It’s time to begin thinking about the second half of the school year! Families will have the opportunity to change their learning model (in-person or virtual) for the second semester, which begins on January 4, 2021. The District will send a declaration form with details on what to do to change your student’s current learning model, along with a deadline to make your decision. The information will be sent to all Reynoldsburg City School families through a variety of communication channels from both the District and your child’s buildings. It will be important to note that if you would like your child to remain in their current learning model, you will not need to respond to the form.
Although we were able to offer flexibility with changes to learning models during the first semester, due to scheduling, any late requests to change from virtual to hybrid after the deadline will not be accepted for the second half of the school year. However, students will be allowed to switch from hybrid to virtual with a doctor’s note.
Reynoldsburg City Schools’ ability to continue offering the hybrid learning model is based on local health conditions and the advice and guidance of local health officials. If, at any time, the District must shift out of the current hybrid model, students enrolled in hybrid will receive virtual instruction until it is considered safe to return to in-person learning. We are committed to following the guidance and recommendations of Franklin County Public Health and local public health experts to ensure the health and safety of our whole learning community.
Again, this is an informational message to inform you that the Second Semester Learning Model Declaration and Instructions will be coming soon. There is no action for you to take at this time, other than to begin discussing your options with your children and families.
