Day 1 (Thursday, Nov. 1)
Two separate events are scheduled for Day 1.
Event 1: Site Supervisor Workshop and Network Gathering. This event is intended for Site Supervisors of current WACC-sponsored programs. The workshop will include three sections: 1) coaching and conflict resolution, 2) networking, 3) program-specific training. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss statewide learning communities, share best practices, and identify future programmatic needs.
Event 2: Faculty Institute. This event is titled “Integrating Service-Learning into Sustainability-Focused Courses.” This institute is intended for faculty interested in improving student learning and civic engagement by incorporating service- learning into their courses focused on sustainability. A multi-disciplinary approach to sustainability will be explored during this institute. Following the institute, participants will have access to a faculty fellow and receive free coaching and curriculum feedback for up to three months to develop their service-learning courses. Faculty from all disciplines interested in this topic are welcome!
