April 2023
We Shine Brighter Together!

A note from your administrators
In March, we had so many exciting things happening on and off campus! Here is just a snapshot:
Our very own Troy Caruso represented Sand Pine at the district Pasco Students Speaks event and did a wonderful job!
On March 10, our PE department with our PTA hosted Field Day for our students. A great time was had by all.
On the same day, our 5th graders took a field trip to John Long Middle School to learn about their experiences for the fall. We are so thankful for this community partnership!
Then, we all rested with family and friends over Spring Break!
When we returned, our admin team met with the district support team to review our current data and progress we have made this year in the areas of academics, behavior, and culture. From this meeting, we set goals for the coming school year. We can't wait to get started!
Our students were treated to the Turtle Trunk, an interactive experience led by Mrs. Simmons. The students loved getting to learn important facts about sea turtles. Be sure to ask your child about it!
On March 23, we held the Sunshine State celebration for those students that read and passed 10 quizzes. We had so much fun making slime together! Look at the picture above to see how much fun the two of us had!
Our 2nd grade team hosted our annual Living Museum on March 24. It was so exciting to see our Peacocks dressed up and presenting about historical figures. We loved seeing our families on campus for this event!
Finally, we wrapped up this busy month with the Day of Awesomeness! The entire school enjoyed inflatables, obstacle courses, dance parties, and so much more. Special thanks to our PTA for leading this fundraiser and arranging for this special event!
April brings us All Pro Dads breakfast, kindergarten registration day, Chuck E. Cheese spirit night, a campus cleanup day, our Fine Arts Night, and the launch of end of the year testing.
If either of us can ever be of any assistance to your child or family, please reach out to us.

SSYRA Celebration
Our next Sunshine State celebration will be for those students that have read and passed quizzes for 15 Sunshine State books (Kindergarten through 2nd grade) and 14 books (3rd through 5th grades). We will be having breakfast from Chick Fil A, bingo, and a special visit from a local author! If you have any questions about what books your child should read or the quizzes, please contact your child's teacher.
The celebration is on May 12, however students must pass all their quizzes no later than May 4 at 4:00 pm. This will allow us ample time to make the breakfast order and buy necessary supplies. Thank you for your understanding.
Special thanks to Mrs. Simmons, our Learning Design Coach, for heading up this incentive program!
