This week we will be reading books that meet the 7 habits (we weren't able to get to our habit 1 books last week). We will focus on being proactive and during 3rd grade story time we will be reading The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. We will be reading Kid Sheriff and the Terrible Toads by Bob Shea during 2nd grade story time. We will be reading Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse by Leo Lionni during 1st grade story time. We will be reading Olivia . . .and the Missing Toy by Ian Falconer during kindergarten story time.

On Friday we will see:
3rd Grade Burch and Fox - We will start our genre study and we will look at realistic fiction.
2nd Grade Larson and Foster - We will be comparing and contrasting fiction and nonfiction.
1st grade Weller and Lange - We will be classifying texts as fiction or nonfiction.
Kindergarten Shannon and Thatcher - We will be learning the difference between real and make believe books.
We will see Mr. Brummet's and McFargo's classes on Monday. We will See Mrs. Catlin's and Mrs. Galindo's classes on Wednesday for library lessons.
We will be introducing the students to some of the new books that are adding to our Garfield library and some of the books that may not know about that are already in the library. We will have book talks and book trailers to help spread the word about the great books that we have in our library.
I will be at the middle school half days Monday through Thursday. Monday and Wednesday will be in the afternoon and Tuesday and Thursday will be in the morning. Tasha Siemers will be working Monday through Wednesday all day and half day 7:45-10:45 a.m. on Friday.
We have scheduled class checkouts on Tuesday 6th hour (Mrs. Hallberg), Wednesday (Mrs. Yenni), and Thursday (Mr. DeBauche). During 8th hour on the following days, Monday (Mrs. Blake), Tuesday (Mrs. Hallberg), Wednesday (Mrs. Yenni), and Thursday (Mrs. Roth) the 6th grade language arts classes will be in the library for checkout.
