We Engage We Educate We Inspire
Hello Stallions!
We had a great week last week at the Ranch! It was Appreciation Week, and everyone at Sonoma Ranch certainly felt your appreciation. Our PTSO went above and beyond (again) with sweet treats all week. Each day parents brought in food and gifts for the faculty and staff. Families submitted almost 100 Notes of Appreciation. It was a great week. Thank you so much for helping to make Sonoma a great please to engage, to educate and to inspire.
We are fortunate to have such fantastic families who support the Ranch. The PTSO is made up of great people who volunteer a great deal of time to make our school special. Next year Tim Roan will return as our Treasurer. Devin Webb will be our Secretary. Erica Smith and Ellie Burnett will be our co-Vice Presidents and Elizabeth Reich and Chad Kerby will be our co-Presidents for 2019-20. We look forward to a fantastic year!
This week we celebrate four amazing Stallions. We will be recognizing four educators who have spent their careers dedicated to students and their learning. Please join us Wednesday at 4:00 PM to celebrate the careers of:
- Bonnie Georgvich, our Librarian
- Elaine Maish, our 6th Grade Teacher
- Teri Nitschke, our 2nd Grade Teacher
- Michelle Long, our Preschool Speech-Language Pathologist
There are 8 full days and one 1/2 day of school left this year. We all know how quickly that time will fly by! Below you will find a detailed calendar for the remaining days. Our Sonoma Ranch Elementary Parent Calendar will reflect any changes or updates as well.
Monday morning the students who completed the application process for being on the Student Council Executive Board will get the opportunity to interview before a panel. The interview will be in essence them giving their speech to our STUCO sponsors and the current 6th-grade executive board members and myself. The panel will select the leadership. Our classrooms will continue to elect their STUCO classroom representatives. Monday afternoon we will announce the names of the students selected to lead our Student Council for 2019-20.
Tuesday morning we will induct our first members into the Sonoma Ranch Elementary National Elementary Honor Society. The ceremony will begin at 9:00 AM and will be attended by grades 3-6. The families of our new NEHS members are welcome to attend!
Tuesday evening our PTSO hosts an Ice Cream Night at 212 Ice Cream Studio on Elliott Road. See the flyer below! Come on out and enjoy some ice cream AND support the SRE PTSO.
Wednesday is a Student Council Spirit Day. It's Hawaiian Day at the Ranch! Everyone is encouraged to dress up and show their school spirit! Students will head home at 2:30 PM on Wednesday.
Wednesday at 4:00 PM we will have our Retirement Celebration for our amazing Stallions who are retiring this year! The entire Sonoma Ranch Community is invited to come to celebrate Mrs. G, Mrs. Maish, Mrs. Nitschke, and Mrs. Long!
Thursday our 1st Grade has a walking field trip and that evening is our Band and Strings Concerts.!
Our Strings and Band have their last performances of the year on Thursday! The Strings concert starts at 6 PM, Band begins at 7 PM.

There will be inflatables outside, cold treats, yearbooks will be distributed for signing, there will be singing and dancing and we will end the day with our Talent Show (starts at 1:30 PM).
