A Note from Our Parent Group
Good news! We reached our goal, with the coolest thing of all having EVERY classroom participate in the coin collection! Mr. Ewald will be taped to his chair at an upcoming assembly and Mrs. Crist's class won the ice cream sundae party!
Thanks to everyone for their generous contributions of coins! We raised $1,713 for our school!
Jump Rope for Heart
A lot of money has been raised for the American Heart Association via Jump Rope for Heart. Fundraising ends Monday, 4/4. Currently, we have raised approximately $9,500! Great job, everyone!
A Note from Our Nurse's Office
The spring weather has been very up and down these past few weeks. Even though we have enjoyed a few pleasantly warm days, for the most part temperatures have been hovering pretty closely to the 30-50 degree range. When you add a little wind on top of that, children of this age get chilled pretty quickly. As a reminder: students play outside before school and the first recess occurs before noon for Kindergarten and First Grade. With the weather lately, those morning temps have still been quite chilly.
Please continue to send a coat (or at least a jacket) with your child every day. It would also be a good idea to dress your child in layers.
It is tempting to wear shorts and skirts with bare legs, but it would be best to layer pants or leggings so that layers can be removed if the temp warms up. The same is true for T-Shirts. Putting a sweatshirt over the top allows the child to remove a layer if they get too warm...or add a layer if they get chilled. We have a very limited supply of extra coats and pants to loan out so it will save you an inconvenient trip of having to bring clothing to the school if your child comes prepared.
If you don't want to have to remember to send something every day, another option would be to send a spare sweatshirt and sweatpants to school for your child to keep in their locker. Then they always have something here. (*On that same note-if you have gently used clothing items that your child has outgrown, we take donations!)
Thank you for your help and understanding!

Box Tops
From the Starry Parent Group:
We need your BOX TOPS! The class with the most each month earns a popcorn party or a root beer float party!
Send them with your child in a baggie, envelope, or attached to a form with their teacher's name on the outside. Each one helps and they add up quickly to support the school.
Thanks so much!
Marion Spirit Day
Thanks to our awesome Parent Group, ALL of our students are receiving this awesome 'Follow the Marion Way' tee-shirt.
Therefore, we are declaring every Tuesday to be Marion Spirit Day - staff and students are encouraged (if they choose) to wear Marion, Starry, and/or red and gold clothing.
#TCT - Think College Thursdays!
Show your school spirit and help promote post-secondary education in our building by wearing clothing that supports your favorite college.
We believe that college and career readiness begins in elementary school. Therefore, we are encouraging everyone to wear their college shirt/sweatshirt or college color every Thursday.
