Mrs. Dina's Kindergarten

Week of Jan. 12th - 16th

It's All About Space

We had such a busy week! We traveled to the sun, Mercury and Venus all in one week! Your children are having so much fun with our space unit! Each child picked a planet, the sun, or the moon to research. Once we learn about the planets, each child will paint their planet, do a little research, and give us an oral report.

We began by learning about the sun. The sun is in the center of the solar system, so it was a great place to start. We made a make believe spaceship and some passports. Dimitri, our captain, took us to the sun. With the advantage of having a smart board, we were able to see how a spaceship takes off and a close look at the sun. We love technology! Then, Tatiana took us to Mercury and Anastasi took us to Venus! Next week we will learn all about our beautiful Earth and the moon!

Your children love listening to non-fiction stories! They were very interred in Martin Luther King Jr. Be sure to ask your children what they have learned about MLK.
