Waiahole Elementary School
Aloha Waiahole 'Ohana!
As a school, we have been monitoring our attendance and we appreciate your support in ensuring that your child(ren) attend school on a daily basis. Our daily attendance rates have been as follows: 1) August 95%, 2) September 96% and 3) October 94%. You can help us by bringing your child to school on a daily basis. We also ask that you schedule appointments and trips afterschool or during vacations. This will ensure that your child is getting the instruction that they need throughout the day to be successful!
Thank you to all the Waiahole families that helped to sell fundraising tickets for our Fall Fundraiser! We haven’t tallied up the monies that we have earned but all monies will be used to purchase technology and leveled reading books for Waiahole students!
The holidays are right around the corner! We hope that you and your family will be able to enjoy this time! During Winter Break, please continue to work with your children at home. We want our students to enjoy their break but we also want them to continue learning! You can have them read, write and practice their math facts. We also have a number of online programs that students can access:

Thank you for all for making the canned food drive a huge success! We were able to collect over 300 canned goods for the Baskets of Blessings. With your generous donations, we can ensure that the less fortunate will not go hungry during the holiday season.
As we inch closer to winter break, please help us maintain our school’s improved attendance by scheduling family trips during non-instruction dates. We understand there may be times when you need to schedule a trip earlier than the last school day before break so we just ask that you notify the main office of the days your child will be absent.
Thank you,Shane Kumashiro
