New Semester - New Beginnings
Today starts the second semester of the school year! That is right, we are half way through this school year. Chatfield students are starting off with a fresh, clean slate and we have an exciting semester in store.
WinterFest Date Change
Below, you will see the flyers for P.I.E.'s Winterfest. Please note that the date has been changed to Saturday, February 25. The decision to change the date was two fold. First, we thought we might get more winter-like weather later in February. Secondly, we want to encourage people to sign up! We have just few families signed up and we would like to get more family participation! We added a family dance to the events with a DJ! We thought that might be fun especially since we may not have that special winter weather. Please sign up!
PIE Needs a DJ!
We are looking for someone who would be able to DJ a family dance at Winterfest. This person would be able to provide great, family appropriate music while teaming with the Jam Band performance. This would be a paid opportunity. Please contact Mr. Kraly if you are interested or know someone who could do this.
8th Grade Transition to High School Meeting Tuesday, Jan. 31 6:30pm

We will also answer questions and have discussion about making the transition to high school a positive experience. Tuesday, January 31, 6:30pm in the commons.
Sibling Enrollment for 2023-2024
If your currently enrolled Chatfield student has a sibling that will be starting kindergarten at Chatfield in the new school year or has a sibling that would like to enroll for the new school year, you must complete and turn in an updated Sibling Enrollment form. This form is due to the school office by April 3, 2023. Siblings of enrolled Chatfield students are given priority for any vacancies during enrollment of new students. Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee priority enrollment if the form is turned in after the deadline.

Weather-Related School Closures
It’s that time of year again when we must discuss school closings. As you know, the weather and roads can be an issue this time of year. We want you to know that we are always concerned about the safety of the students and parents.
We work with the superintendents from other local school districts and the Lapeer Intermediate School District as well as the Lapeer County Road Commission and law enforcement to determine the conditions around the county. If your local school district is closed that does not mean that Chatfield is closed.
The school directors will make the determination as early as possible and send out messages via:
Radio: WWJ 950, WJR 760, WMPC 1230
Television: Fox 2, Local 4, ABC 7, WWJTV CBS,
CW 50, ABC 12
Internet: www.chatfieldschool.org
Skylert School Messenger: Parents can adjust their contact preferences, E-mail, Text, Phone Call,by going into Skyward Family Access and clicking on the Skylert tab.
As a general rule of thumb Chatfield School does not have early release on days when the weather and roads become worse during the day. We will provide updates regarding the status of evening activities by posting them to the school website. Road conditions can vary around the county and on different surfaces so as always use your best judgement and safety when determining if you should drive to school. Safety is always our first priority.
