Attendance Info for 2022-2023
Hi Parents!
I hope everyone had a fantastic summer! I just want to remind everyone of a few attendance specifics for the new 2022-2023 new school year.
Students have three days after an absence to turn in a note in order to receive an excused absence for (permissible) PISD absences. The note should include the students' name, ID number, reason, date of absence and the parent's signature and all must be legible. An email is a valid note form. Parent phone calls do not excuse absences. We must have a note on file!
Students may not leave school during class time without written parental permission. Any time a student needs to enter or leave school for any reason parents are required to come into the attendance office located at the front office to sign out the student. If your student is being picked up during school hours, please send a note with your student in the morning stating what time they will be picked up. The student should bring that note to the attendance office where they will receive a pass to meet you in the front office at the designated time. Please send a doctor and/or parent note with their student when they return to school.
Adhering to the attendance procedures helps keep interruptions in the classroom to a minimum. We appreciate your help in making this run smoothly.
Kind Regards,
Toni Junio

The Companion
By Katie Alexander
The other orphans say Margot is lucky. Lucky to survive the horrible accident that killed her family. Lucky to have her own room because she wakes up screaming every night.
And finally, lucky to be chosen by a prestigious family to live at their remote country estate.
But it wasn't luck that made the Suttons rescue Margot from her bleak existence at the group home. Margot was hand-picked to be a companion to their silent, mysterious daughter, Agatha. At first, helping with Agatha - and getting to know her handsome older brother - seems much better than the group home. But soon, the isolated, gothic house begins playing tricks on Margot’s mind, making her question everything she believes about the Suttons... and herself.
Margot’s bad dreams may have stopped when she came to live with Agatha – but the real nightmare has just begun.
With Malice
By Eileen Cook
Eighteen-year-old Jill Charron wakes up in a hospital room, leg in a cast, stitches in her face and a big blank canvas where the last six weeks should be. She discovers she was involved in a fatal car accident while on a school trip in Italy. A trip she doesn’t even remember taking.
She was jetted home by her affluent father in order to receive quality care. Care that includes a lawyer. And a press team. Because maybe the accident…wasn’t an accident.
As the accident makes national headlines, Jill finds herself at the center of a murder investigation. It doesn’t help that the media is portraying her as a sociopath who killed her bubbly best friend, Simone, in a jealous rage. With the evidence mounting against her, there’s only one thing Jill knows for sure: She would never hurt Simone. But what really happened?
Questioning who she can trust and what she’s capable of, Jill desperately tries to piece together the events of the past six weeks before she loses her thin hold on her once-perfect life.
