SOUTH CLUSTER CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Fortunately, we were blessed with perfect weather conditions last Tuesday, for the South Cluster Cross Country Championships. We were represented by our 42 best runners from Years 4-6, who competed against athletes from St Mary's, Maungatapu, Welcome Bay and Selwyn Ridge primary schools. The course at Waipuna Park is a lot more challenging than the track at our school event, with massive hurdles to clamber over and an extremely steep hill that quickly fatigues many of the athletes. All of our students gave their best effort, some finishing in the top seven, which means they have now qualified for the WBOP event in two weeks.
Whakamihi to the following students:
Timothy Cresswell 1st Year 6 Boys
Mauritz Muller 2nd Year 6 Boys

Oliver Preston 4th Year 5 Boys
Grace Bell-Booth 2nd Year 5 Girls
Andre Swager 2nd Year 4 Boys
Beau Gosling 4th Year 4 Boys
WBOP RIP RUGBY QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT
A couple of weeks ago, our Year 3 & 4 and Year 5 & 6 RIP Rugby Teams competed at the WBOP RIP Rugby Qualifying Tournament for the South and West Cluster groups. The Year 5 & 6s had a couple of unfortunate losses early in the day, followed by some easy wins, which put them in 3rd place in their pool. The team played a great passing game and displayed good teamwork where all players were heavily involved. The Year 5 & 6s won their final game finishing in 5th place overall. The Year 3 & 4s had an exceptional day, scoring many tries, and completed their pool play undefeated. The team met Maungatapu Primary School in the semi-finals where they earned another good win, sending them to the Grand Final. This was another high try scoring game, but unfortunately, our team narrowly lost to Welcome Bay School. The Year 3 & 4s join Welcome Bay School to represent the two cluster groups at the BOP Tournament in Paengaroa later in the month. Waimarie pai! Thank you to Brent, Cam and Rich for coaching, and all of the parents who cheered loudly from the sidelines.
