Lombard District 44 Update
Monthly News from Lombard District 44
Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year is Open!!
Registration for the 2019-2020 school year officially opened on July 15. Letters were mailed home to all families in June. If you have not done so already, please complete this process as soon as possible. Only registered students will be allowed to start on the first day of school.
As a reminder, residency must be verified for first-time enrolling students and for families who change addresses. Additionally, parents/guardians of District 44 students who attend Out of District, CASE CoOp, and SASED must confirm residency each year.
Please contact your child's school for support with registration or residency.
Important Information Regarding First & Last Days of School
Recently Governor Pritzker signed into law Senate Bill 28, which restores the requirement that a school day be a minimum of five instructional hours. This means the first and last days of school can no longer be half-days, as originally planned.
At the July meeting, our Board of Education approved an amended calendar that now designates Wednesday, August 21 and Friday, May 29 as full instructional days.
Please plan on a normal dismissal time for grades 1-8 for both the first day of school – Wednesday, August 21 – as well as the last day of school, Friday, May 29. This change does not impact the John Schroder Early Childhood Center or kindergarten.
