Suffering During The Great Depression
To begin with, people who were affected by money problems were extremely in jeopardy. Actually, not just themselves, but their entire family. The dad's might usually abandon their own family just because of the fear of not having food, water, clothes, homes, etc. When that happens, the families will be even more exposed to danger, and maybe even death. This happens because the women don't really find jobs. Did you know that only about 20 to 50 percent of the men only find jobs? Well, imagine about how many women can find jobs during this tragic time.
The Stock Market Crash
During the Great Depression, The Stock Market Crash is only one of the things that caused the Great Depression. I'll leave the rest for you to enjoy! But anyway, the Stock Market Crash of October, 1929, was responsible for many millions of Americans to lose their savings, which resulted many banks being closed. Loans couldn't be repaid and many people lost everything they had, their jobs included. Jobs were almost non-existent and the unemployment rates were the highest they ever were!
Leaders Of The Great Depression
Last, we have our leaders during the Great Depression: Herbert Hoover was the actual President during the beginning of the Great Depression. 1929-1933. Even though he tried making the Great Depression temporary, it lasted for almost 12 years, until America became involved in World War II in 1941. Franklin D. Roosevelt won the election and became 32nd President in 1933, lasting through the Great Depression.
