Mrs. Licari's Last Letter

May, 2017

WHOOOO HOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Room 204 Families,

Congratulations to the Room 204 Children for winning three box tops challenges this year. As a reward the PTO will be treating us to a pizza lunch on Friday June 2. Pizza and pop are on the menu. If you would like to send a fruit, or other side dish with your child, that would be fine. THANK YOU PTO FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!!!!

Tuesday June 6 is the last day for library. Please help your child remember to return all their books. I believe the media staff has a reward for students if all their books are returned on time.

Our end of year academic testing window has now ended. There are no words to describe how pleased I am with your child's growth this year. WOWZER what a group of HARD WORKERS! Although M-step data will not be available for quite some time, the MAP results will be included with your student's final report card. New summer lexile levels will also be included on that report. I think you will all be very pleased. They certainly worked hard this year. Thank you to all the families who donated snacks on testing days. They made each testing session a little nicer. As a reward for all their hard work, there will be no homework except Reflex Math and spelling for the remainder of the year.

GOOD LUCK SATURDAY TO OUR GIRLS ON THE RUN!

On the afternoon of June 9 our class will participate in field day events. Mrs. Onopa will be planning activities with a board game theme this year. If you or a member of your family can volunteer any or part of your day I know she would really appreciate it. Grandparents make great helpers also.

On Thursday, June 8 we will celebrate our fourth graders and wish them the best as they begin their years at Pine Street Elementary. We will welcome our third graders into their leadership roles as new fourth graders and announce the recipients of the Dorr Business Association Citizenship Awards. The ceremony will be at the Fine Arts Center in Wayland at 6:00. Refreshments will be served by our PTO following the event.

June 13 th will be a half day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:50.

Our media center has discarded a full set of 1996 encyclopedias. If anyone is interested in them please let me know. They are free for the asking.

I have truly enjoyed working with you all. I appreciated all your help with the parties and all the donations you made through the sign ups. I looked forward to each day with this class. You have all done a wonderful job with them. Best of luck to each of you. I hope you will continue to stop by room 204 as the years go by and let me know how great they turned out. I see many a nurse, engineer and marine biologist among them.

God Bless,

Aleisa Licari

PS- REFLEX Math & IXL will be available most of the summer months. Please take advantage of these site licences. They are a fun and beneficial ways to keep the summer slide from creeping up on you. I am strongly encouraging them to get their green light on at least once a week. Multiplication fact fluency is essential for success in fourth grade mathematics.
