From the Principal

As we move further into the second semester of the 19-20 school year, take some time to talk with your child regarding their academic progress for this year. What is going well for him/her? What could use some improving? Set some short term goals to finish this school year in a strong way. These are important tips as we move into the testing season of the school year--from benchmark testing to STAAR testing, setting goals is an important way to stay focused!

Thank you for partnering with us this school year!

Mrs. Shepherd

When you are ready for life, you have a clear perception of your personality. You know what your strengths are as well as your weaknesses. You understand your own thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. You take the time to express how you feel, reflect on thing you could improve on, and ask for feedback from others. By doing these things, you are using the leader attribute, Self- Aware.

This weeks I will statement “I will be aware of myself by knowing my strengths and weaknesses.”

During the month of February we will be spotlighting our United States Military Academies.

This week we focus on West Point. This US Army Academy is located in West Point, New York and has an enrollment capacity of 4,200. Some very notable alumni from West Point include, Buzz Aldrin, astronaut and Edgar Allen Poe, poet. Visit to learn how the Army could help you with your education and career.

Perfect Attendance Incentives

Life School Red Oak would like to encourage our students to be in attendance each day to make sure they can “Ready to Learn, Ready to Lead, Ready for Life.” We will hold a drawing at the end of each month for all students that have perfect attendance for that month. Students must have perfect attendance during the month, no absences, tardies, or early checkouts. There will be a prize for students that are in Kindergarten thru 3rd grade and a prize for students in 4th grade thru 6th grade. The prize winners will be announced during morning announcements and we will contact the parents/guardians to come by the office to pick up the prizes. Please see Pages 3-4 of the Student Handbook for the Attendance guidelines.
