This Week in Waumba Land
Sunday, September 22nd
"God's way is perfect."
Happy Wednesday! I hope this email finds you happier than a camel on hump day. Thanks to my hubby and the Geico commercial, our youngest son Issac says "Hump Day. Yeah!" about 1,000 times a day. Just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about, I posted the video below for your viewing pleasure. (Oh, and I promise to try not to be this cheesy in future emails. I'm in rare form today.)
Thank you all for serving last week. An extra special THANK YOU to Sharon for serving on your "off" week. I think we are all learning together that we never really know how may little ones to expect any given Sunday. Last week was super quiet but this week might be C-R-A-Z-Y! I do love that the quiet Sunday's give us an opportunity to get to know the little ones and each other a little better.
This week I show Angie, Bob and Sharon are out. Am I missing anyone? This gives us 3 volunteers in each room which I feel is a great number.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Maybe we will all have more exciting and memorable (Deb) stories to share this week. :-)
See you on Sunday,
- 3:45 Meeting - We will meet in room 215 at 3:45pm.
- October Schedule - Can you take a moment to update the Google Doc with your October schedule. If you can not access it, you can let me know any Sunday's that you will be out.
- Parent Pick-up - Please continue to hand out the cards to encourage parents to pick up their little ones quickly so our rooms can be used for InsideOut.
- September Curriculum - Check out the volunteer website
I would love for us to continue to pray for and celebrate with one another. Please let us know if we can be praying anything specific for you or if you have a praise in your life that we can celebrate together.
This week we have been praying for:
Kris-He's interviewing for a new position that would be a step forward in his career. Praying for favor as he goes through this process and for peace and calm nerves during the interview process.
Arlene-She is looking for a job after several years of being home with her kids. She has applied for many positions and has had several interviews. Praying that God would lead her to the right job in His timing.
"Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise" James 5:13, NIV
Come Together - Update
As of today, $2.4 million has been pledged towards the Come Together campaign. With the matching funds the total is $4.8 million. All pledges will be matched dollar for dollar up to a total of $5,175,000 if received by September 30. This leaves $2.7 million waiting to be matched. If you know you want to give but have not pledged, you can enter your pledge today by visiting http://npcometogether.com. I just entered our family's pledge today and it felt so good knowing that it would be DOUBLED! If you should have any questions, please send them to email@example.com.
