Arctic Blast
Glacier Ridge Elementary School 10.11.19
Dear Glacier Ridge Families,
We are in full swing now here at Glacier Ridge. Our Polar Bears are working hard and showing us what great learners they are. Our instructional coaches (Mrs. Meyer and Mrs. Pearce) along with Mrs. Gruper presented last week, in Peoria, at the Illinois Reading Council conference. They share with other educators across the state all the great literacy work staff and students have done. #PolarBearPride!
Enjoy your long holiday weekend.

Parent Teacher Conference Scheduling is Open thru ParentVue
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held in November. Our teachers are excited to share your student's progress thus far, as well as the goals they have for continued progress. (Remember we want your student present at conferences to share their achievements and goals.)
This year's conferences will be held:
Wednesday, November 20th 5:00pm-8:00pm Monday, November 25th 12:00pm-8:00pm
Tuesday, November 26th 8:00am-11:00am
Please log in to ParentVue and choose CONFERENCE from the left hand menu to choose a day and time that works for you and your student(s). (If you have more than one student you will have to select each student separately to choose a date a time for a conference.) Your response will be automatically submitted to the teacher, while at the same time marking that time slot filled. (The time slots visible when you login are the only time slots currently available.) If you need to change the time of your conference, log back in to ParentVue, choose CONFERENCE, un-select your current time which will then allow you to choose a new time. (Parent Teacher conferences CANNOT be scheduled using the ParentVUE app. Parents must log in via the Web browser.)
If you would like to have an encore (Art, LMC, Music, PE or STEM), speech, reading teacher, or social worker included in your conference, please contact your child's homeroom teacher so she can make arrangements for that individual to be present.
Please contact your teacher or the main office if you have any questions or concerns.
The world-famous Harlem Wizards are coming to Crystal Lake
The world-famous Harlem Wizards will visit Crystal Lake Central High School on November 3rd at 5pm for an evening of great fun and fundraising (see flyer attached). The Wizards will play a game against a team of District 47 and District 155 administrators, teachers, community leaders, and community members. Proceeds will benefit Hannah Beardsley, Lundahl, and Richard Bernotas Middle Schools as well as CL Central Boosters.
The home team players will play in front of family, friends, and fans, and spectators, who will delight in seeing their beloved teachers, principals, and community leaders run the court. The event will feature a variety of fun interactive extras to complement the Wizards' dazzling demonstration of hoops artistry: Pregame "Wiz Kids" warm-up, contests, comedy, awesome slam dunks, audience participation, merchandise giveaways, and more. The game will conclude with the Wizards' signature dance extravaganza that will have the crowd on their feet!
Founded in 1962, the Wizards have played over 15,000 games throughout the US that have raised over $25 million for schools and charitable causes. The Wizards have also played in over 25 foreign countries on five continents.
