Dear Longhorn families,
Yay! The weather is warmer! Feel free to send a water bottle with your child to school for the day to help with hydration.
The PTA is gearing up for a wonderful carnival! Please check out the information below and start bidding on the silent auction. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at Longfellow.
Our 5th and 6th graders will be at track and field at Liberty High on Tuesday afternoon.
We are also completing some academic testing in the next few weeks as well.
Just a reminder the district is asking for feedback if your student/s has worked with a Title 1 or reading support teacher this year. Survey link:https://forms.gle/iF1MEFT82Rr7TSjP9
Have a great weekend!

2. CAKE! Don't forget to bake your cakes and cupcakes for the cakewalk. The class that brings in the most cakes will win a pizza party! Cake drop-off is 10am-12pm on carnival day.
3. The AUCTION is ON! Bidding will end at 7pm on May 21st. So many great items this year! Check it out: https://auctria.events/LongfellowAuction
4. VOLUNTEERS: Many thanks to everyone who has signed up to help! It takes a village to run a carnival! We still need around 10 more people to help run a game. Shifts are 75 minutes; easy and fun. Please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508094da4ae23a5f85-longfellow

ATTENDANCE
Please remember the importance of your student arriving on time each day. School starts at 7:50 and the tardy bell rings at 7:55. If students arrive late they must enter through the front office door. After school students need to return home to check in before playing on equipment. The BASP program has access to the playground until 6:00 pm each day after school. Any student on the playground without supervision will be sent home.
An attendance reminder: students who have more than 5 tardies, or 8-10 absences will need to have a meeting at the school to see what supports we can put in place to support school attendance.
Masks remain a requirement for all students, staff, and visitors to our schools. In addition, we highly recommend that all eligible individuals receive the COVID-19 vaccine. For individuals that have received the vaccine, we strongly encourage you to get the booster. Boosters are now available for those age 12 and older. For individuals five years of age and older who have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, this vaccine locator may be used to find a provider near you.
