Miss Vander Laan - Elsa E., Ruby J.
Mrs. Nash - Ellie N., Roland M.

Miss Pfaff - Sophia M., Jimmy M., Riley R.
Mrs. Chaussee - Genesis K., Aubrina R., Kaleb V.
Lifeskill
Our January focus on the Life Skill of “Responsibility” has come to an end. We were able to practice the skill of responsibility during our weekly team meetings by using responsible decision making to determine the best solution to several scenarios, and creating coupons to bring home for you to turn in when you want some help taking care of responsibilities at home. Don’t forget to use them!
The winner for our friendly competition to earn the most stickers in January is the Blue Team! They will be picking their prize during our next team meetings this Friday.
Our Life Skill for February is “Active Listening”. This month we will play Simon Says and Telephone during our team meetings to practice the skill of active listening. If you would like to practice this skill at home you could play these games, or some other options:
- Musical Chairs
- Red Light, Green Light (Traffic Lights)
- Sound Hunt
These and other ideas can be found and explained at Kid Power.
Sincerely,
Highland Acres Teachers and Staff
