Bobcat Weekly Update
We Know Every Child by Name and by Need
May 3, 2019
Lakeview Leaders!
I am not sure how we got to May so quickly but here we are. This time of year is great to reflect on and celebrate all that you have accomplished. We see success (no matter how big or small) every day. Be sure to let yourself enjoy those successes and be proud of all the work you and your students have accomplished!
See you on Monday,

WE NEED YOUR INPUT
We want to provide the best learning opportunities possible to all of our educators in NISD. We need your help to do that.
1. Professional Learning Survey - Please click on the survey link to give us some feedback on several different components of summer professional learning!
2. Call For Presentations - We are so excited to offer the 5th Annual Engage Professional Learning Conference. Engage is a success each year because of the input and leadership of our teachers. If you would like to present at Engage, please click on the Call for Presentations link and fill out the form by April 8th. We will be in tough soon if your session is selected.

Engage
The best place to get information is on the Engage Website! It has links to everything anyone will need to know, so that is always the best place to start.
· An Important point to remember – Teachers must register for sessions for Engage in Edugence. The courses are there now. The easiest way to find the sessions you are interested in is to use the Calendar Search feature. (That is different than My Calendar).
· Professional Learning Survey – You and your teachers did a great job giving us feedback on the survey. The information regarding the survey is linked here. We also then made sure we had sessions that supported the requests and needs of the teachers.
· We also created an Engage Course Guide for those that like to look at it that way.
Be The One For Kids!
Be the One Who Stays Positive
Few things in life - work, relationships, adventures- always go the way they should, but staying positive can make any situation a little better. We must bring energy each day, but it needs to be positive. It is ok to "fake it 'til we make it" if needed, but really - we work at an amazing campus and can find something to be positive about each and every day!
Things to Consider:
1. How do you stay positive?
2. What is your go to strategy when you cannot shake a negative attitude?
3. How do you help your students stay positive?
GT Updates
Hey there! I wanted to give you a heads up with dates for the GT 30 hours courses this summer. Below is a link to Audra’s Smore with info. Remember, the state of Texas says any teacher with gifted students in their class must be certified with the 30 hours (and the GT State Plan just changed and is much more strict in this regard). There was some leniency this year (especially with a lot of newbies in one grade level J), but before we can place GT kids in your class for next year, we have to have your commitment to take these courses next summer J Let me know if you have questions about how it works J
