Time to Check the Lost and Found!
All items will be donated during winter break. Please check for any lost items before they are gone!
Junior ROTC is back!
WERE BACK!!
Hey Husky 8th Graders! The award winning Redmond High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC is back at Elton Gregory during the 2nd trimester. After a year away from EGMS I am excited to be back and continue our tradition of introducing the 8th grade class to a unique and fun leadership education class for the seventh year!!
So what is JROTC you ask? It is an elective class designed to develop leadership skills, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment. We accomplish this by teaching the tenets and principles of leadership, critical thinking, communication skills, conflict resolution and teamwork and much more. At the High School level we offer community service opportunities, P.E. Credit and extra-curricular activities such as competitive Drill Teams, Color Guard Teams, Physical Fitness Teams and Marksmanship Teams in which you can earn your Varsity Letter.
This is a great opportunity to learn about a high school class before arriving at RHS and guess what? There is no cost to take this class, and NO requirement or obligation to join the military and does not interfere with other school activities you may be involved with such as clubs or sports. One of the most unique things about JROTC at EGMS is that you are the only middle school in the state that offers this rare opportunity!!
If you are interested in this class please stop by the front office for more information and a sign up sheet.
Have a great Thanksgiving Break and I look forward to seeing you in the 2nd trimester.
Semper Fi,
Master Gunnery Sergeant Trammel

Please don't text your students at school...
Please don't send your students text messages during the school day. It puts your student in an impossible position- they are not allowed to have phones out, with the exception of lunch, and there are consequences for using a phone during school time.
If you have an urgent message, please call our office at 541-526-6440 and we will get the message right to your student.
Thank you for your help in this one! We appreciate your partnership.
