Lincoln Elementary Weekly Update

Message from Mrs. K

Happy Friday, Lincoln Families!

We were so excited to see how our students dressed as “When I Grow Up…” today! Aspirations are high, and that’s just the way we like it. Enjoy some pictures below.

Mornings are dark and it can be hard to get out of bed during the winter months. We are noticing more students arriving late to school and we will need to make some changes around serving breakfast, so we can get students and staff started on their jobs for the day.

Our school day begins at 8:15am, and students are in their seats very shortly afterwards. Late breakfast eaters are sent to their classrooms at 8:20am so as not to miss or disrupt learning time. Breakfast will not be served after 8:15am, allowing students a quick 5 minutes to eat and get going to class. If your child is eating breakfast with us, please plan to get here early, leaving them ample time to eat. After 8:15am, students arriving late and in need of breakfast will be given a granola or breakfast bar.

Thank you for your help in getting students started, on time, with full bellies each day!

Enjoy a fun weekend filled with: Pella football (Go Dutch!), a fun PHS marching band performance, Halloween, a full moon, and Daylight’s Savings! As my Minnesota people would say, Uff da!

Stay safe and warm,

- Mrs. Kirkwold

When I Grow Up

Winter Recess Gear

Unfortuanly, we will not be able to lend students items as we have in past years. It will be very important that these items be sent with your child each day.

Please know that if winter recess gear is a hardship for your family, we would be happy to help.

Please contact

Mrs. Kirkwold @ margaret.kirkwold@pellaschools.org

Mrs. VanDyke @ ashley.vandyke@pellaschools.org

LOST AND FOUND

Please remind your child to look at the lost and found for missing items. These items will be donated in a couple of weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office @ lincolnoffice@pellaschools.org

Student Masks

If possible, please add a "back up" mask to your child's backpack. Masks can get dirty or lost though out the day, and having a back up mask is very helpful.

Absences

To report an absence, please call or email the Lincoln office (contact information at the bottom, also linked on our Lincoln home page). You can alert the classroom teacher if you wish, but they will not be responsible for reporting absences to our office and nurse. When you call or email to report an absence, please include symptoms so that our nurse can follow up with you as needed.
