Visitors
Active parent participation is important to the success of your children. Parents already demonstrate involvement at home by reading with their children, helping with homework and discussing school events. Now it is time to invite visitors to attend school functions and volunteer in school. In addition to the volunteer opportunities listed above, here are a few ways visitors can be involved with your child at school.
- Have lunch with your child (This will be as space permits and with your child only.)
- Guest reader (pre approved by the teacher and principal)
- Guest speaker opportunities (pre approved by the teacher and principal)
- Class parties (Winter, Valentines, End of Year)
- Grade level performances
- Award celebrations
All campus visitors and volunteers will be required to sign in using Raptor and must have a valid driver's license/ID each time they visit campus.
LTE Lunch Visitor Plan
- Pre-K lunch visitors are limited to Fridays only at this time.
- At this time, we only have enough space for 12 visitors per grade level. One household family member per child.
- Space permitting, parents are welcome to join their children for lunch starting Monday, October 18, 2021. (see lunch schedule below)
- All visitors must sign in at the front office with the Raptor systems with a driver's license.
- Visitors will be able to enter the building at your child's lunch time, but not sooner.
- Visitors and their children will sit in a separate designated area with their children only.
- Please remember that visitors cannot provide food for other students during lunchtime.
- Lunch visitors are permitted in the cafeteria only. Parents are not allowed to stay for recess or walk a child to their classrooms after lunch.
- Lunch visitors will return visitor badges to the receptionist immediately following lunch.
- For confidentiality and safety reasons, we ask that families do not take pictures, videos or audio recordings during their visit.
Volunteers at LTE
We look forward to having volunteers! Specifically, at this time, we are in need of library volunteers to help shelve books and to help with our upcoming Book Fair. We will be able to welcome mentors through the LT Mentor program, and PTA's can now have meetings on campus if preferred. We are also excited to announce that our high school PALS program will start again soon. PALS is a high school mentor program designed to connect high school students with a mentor and support for some of our LTE students.
For confidentiality reasons and to limit interruptions to our instructional day, volunteers will not be allowed to work inside classrooms. Volunteers can take projects home and/or use the Volunteer/PTA space located in room 118.
