Become a Mentor or Mentee
What is mentoring?
Mentoring is a special and confidential relationship in which an experienced person
(the mentor) acts as a role model to listen, advise, guide, coach, teach, facilitate in a safe environment. The mentor assists another (the mentee) in developing specific skills and knowledge to help meet specific goals.
The goal of the FBA Mentorship Program is to provide a way for members to learn from each other, enhance learning and skills to better prepare themselves in the
family business environment.
How does it work?
- Goals are established from the beginning by FBA and the mentee
- Mentors and mentees are paired based on compatibility
- The relationship lasts for six months with a one hour meeting each month
- Meetings can be in person or by phone
- The FBA office checks in after three months to see how things are going
- After six months, the mentor and mentee complete an evaluation
