December 2023
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2: 8-12
Welcome to the season of Light!
December is here! This may be our favorite month of the year. Little School is bustling with Christmas celebrations and events. Watching the excitement of the season through 200 pairs of little eyes is a gift we get as educators that makes our jobs a true joy.
Not only will we celebrate the birth of Jesus this month, but we will also learn about the generous spirit of St. Nicholas on St. Nicholas Day. Our students will put one shoe under the Christmas tree in hopes that St. Nicholas visits them and fills their shoes with goodies while they attend our chapel service in the sanctuary.
Around the world are various celebrations that bring the light to this dark time of year. Our students will learn about a variety of other holidays celebrated by people around the world.
We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. No matter what you celebrate during this month, we hope it brings, peace, joy, and hope for a wonderful new year.
We have a lot going on this month! Please read through this newsletter so you do not miss any important information!
With love and grace,
Kelly Amadeo
Director and Principal

Holiday Shop!
-Soon, you will receive a Holiday Shop envelope in your child's bag. The envelope will ask you who your child is buying gifts for and how much they can spend on each person.
For example: Mom-$5.00, Dad-$5.00, sister age 3-$5.00.
-You will put money in the envelope and return the envelope to your child's teacher.
-When it's your child's turn to shop, assistant teachers will take them to the holiday shop so they can purchase gifts.
Gifts ranges in price from $3.00-$10.00. Please do not have your child buy for more than six people.
All proceeds for this event go to St. Luke's UMC, and while it is fun to see what your child picked out for you on Christmas day, this is an optional event.
Music Class News
There is magic all around in Little School music this month! We couldn't be more proud of the incredible effort put in by all the children as they prepare for their Christmas programs, which will be held on December 13th and 14th.
Every age group will showcase their own special Christmas songs, and there will also be collective performances of "Mary and Joseph," and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." We are truly grateful to you for entrusting your children to us. Seeing their growth and learning every day brings us great joy. May your Christmas be filled with love and your New Year be filled with blessings.
With musical wishes,
Ms. Sheri, Ms. Laura, and Ms. Jana
