Be a Rock Star Paraprofessional!

Collaboration, Communication, & Consistency

The Southern Indiana Education Center is excited to offer a day of professional learning for the many important paraprofessionals that work tirelessly for students in our schools. SIEC Director of Professional Learning, DeAnne Taggart, and Crawford County School Title I Director, Amy Etienne, are teaming up to guide participants through a day of relevant and timely information that can be used the next day in the classroom. Participants will:

  1. Learn best practices and instructional strategies for small group teaching for paraprofessionals.
  2. Review basics of professionalism and modeling appropriate behavior, speech, and educational processes for students.

  3. Learn practices in collaborating with colleagues, specifically other paraprofessionals and classroom teachers.

  4. Learn specific strategies and instruction for teaching reading comprehension in small groups, especially for struggling students.

  5. Learn specific strategies and instruction for teaching math in small groups, especially for struggling students.
