Self-management strategies are "wide ranges of plans and/or routines and activities that a person with bipolar disorder uses to promote health and quality of life. Healthcare providers, friends, family or caregivers can be involved in developing strategies and supporting their use. Outside of hospital settings, it is typically the person with BD who chooses, enacts their self-management approach and tailors self-management strategies."
