Farm Day Field Trip
Artist in Residence!
Quarter 4 theme is inspiration and innovation!
We have been reading about many different kinds of inventions that have been made by kids all over the world!
In writer's workshop we have been creating our own invention and writing a persuasive ad/flyer to convince someone to buy our invention. We will also be making a commercial for our invention!
Ask your child... Why was it important to survey our peers when thinking of a useful invention? (To research and gain data about an invention that will not only help us, but others too. This is what people inventing in the real world would do to make sure that their product would sell to others!)
We will continue our testing next week. Here are some ways you can help your child be successful during state testing:
- Help them get a good night sleep before the testing day
- Eat a healthy breakfast the morning of
- Encourage them to try their best
We will be testing the following dates:
- May 3rd & 5th - Social Studies
This week we began our FINAL unit of the Everyday Math curriculum. In this combined unit we will be focusing on developing these skills:
- Making estimates when measuring

- Metric System conversions
