The Bobby's Run School Bulletin

Principal's Message

This week teachers contacted families to sign up for conferences. We will be having conferences on November 17th and November 21st. We are looking forward to working with families and discussing student progress.

Veteran's Day Activities

On Wednesday students wrote letters to active military and veterans thanking them for their service. We are so looking forward to sending out these drawings and cards. Last year Bobby's Run School got a penpal from this activity.

Thank you to all of our community members that have served or are serving. Mrs. Hellmann's and Mrs. Wessel's classes got a special visitor. Lieutenant Colonel Shoupe did a video call from Turkey to see his children in Lumberton Schools and have their class ask questions.

American Education Week Visitations

Schools across the country will celebrate American Education Week from November 14th through November 18th. The National Education Association’s annual tagline, “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility,” is intended to highlight the importance of bringing together teachers, school staff, parents, students, and communities in a unified effort to build great public schools. To celebrate this partnership, we are inviting parents to join us to visit their child’s classroom and see education in action. We hope you can reserve time to visit your child’s classroom on either Tuesday, November 15th (cycle day 4), or Wednesday, November 16th (cycle day 5) during the following timeframes:

Ashbrook Elementary School: 9:15 – 11:15 a.m. and/or 1:15 – 2:45 p.m.

Bobby’s Run School: 8:15 – 10:15 a.m. and/or 1:15 – 2:45 p.m.

Lumberton Middle School: 8:15 – 10:15 a.m. and/or 1:15 – 2:45 p.m.

Please show ID and sign in as you enter the building. They will help direct you to your child’s classroom. Chairs will be provided in the back of the classroom. Our students have a sense of pride when they see their parents in school. Please enter quietly and try to be non-intrusive. Infants and preschool age children may not accompany parents for these visits and use of cameras and video-taping is prohibited. We also ask that you refrain from using your cell phone.

We look forward to seeing you next week.

Important message from the nurse's office

As we move into cold and flu season, and with the continued presence of positive COVID cases, we need to reiterate the importance of monitoring your child's health and not sending them to school if they do not feel well. In the event that you keep your child home, please call our nurse, Mrs. Barbieri, to let her know. Per Department of Health Guidance, if your child is sent home for COVID symptoms, they will need to test negative to return. Finally, if your child tests positive, please let Mrs. Barbieri know and she will talk with you about the protocols for a safe return.
