Hillendale families,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! I look forward to seeing many of you this week at our Spring Concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday. As a reminder, while all of our K-3 students perform in the K-3 concert on Tuesday, only our 4th & 5th graders in band, chorus & strings perform in our 4-5 concert on Wednesday. We are extending our #2 plastic recycling drive through June 2nd to allow students and families a bit more time to gather recyclables. See more details below.

Hillendale Elementary Principal

We are excited to announce a student led recycling opportunity during the week of May 22nd - June 2nd! Working in partnership with EcoPlastics, a plastic recycling non-profit in Delaware, donated recyclables will be molded into picnic tables to outfit our new outdoor pavilion classroom.

All donated plastic recyclables must be #2 and must be thoroughly rinsed.

We are proud to share an FAQ page and slides about this special project created by our 5th graders in Student Council linked here. Thank you for your support!

Patton Middle School's Unified Bocce program visited Hillendale this past week for a friendly match! Each bocce program is fully inclusive and allows students of all abilities to come together to practice and compete as equal teammates. Awesome job to our Patton Hawks and Hillendale Huskies!

This week the HES Husky made a special delivery with some of our students to Pocopson Home. Students and staff were generous with donations during our plant sale and their time making cards and crafts of inspiration. Residents will enjoy some fresh air planting these in the accessible flower boxes we built during our MLK Day of Service in January. Way to go Huskies!!

Earn money for the school by recycling sneakers you no longer use. We are collecting throughout the end of the school year!
