SPOTLIGHT SCHOOL OF THE MONTH

Roxborough Elementary

Meet Chantel Estas at Roxborough Elementary. Chantel is a well-rounded educator. She has held various roles in the field of education. She has worked at the district level focusing on science instruction and environmental based education. She was an instructional coach and helped open the DCSD Outdoor Ed Center. She has facilitated district trainings on science notebooking, outdoor learning and inquiry based science. Chantel was an adjunct instructor teaching inquiry based science instruction for pre-service teachers. She even taught a group of 100 preschool teachers how to integrate science into their daily instruction. This all contributes to her superior leadership skills and ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff. Chantel has initiated school wide sustainability projects that not only inspired others to take action, but also profited our school in so many ways. Keep up your inspirational work!
