RMS Monday Message
October 12, 2020
Half way through the 1st marking period!
In normal times, it wouldn't be a huge accomplishment to make it to the second month of school. However, we are very proud of our school and our district for putting in the work and creating a safe environment for our students to continue their education. We are not naive to the challenges ahead but we know that through transparency, effective communication and working together there is nothing we can't overcome! Thanks to all the parents for being so patient as the students get familiar with new systems and thanks to our teachers for putting in a tremendous amount of hard work.
Virtual Open House: Begins October 26th
Intramural Sports: Grades 6-8
Update: 5 Week Progress Reports
It is important to note that a student's class average is calculated in Powerschool (what you see on parent portal). Assignments are graded by the teacher in google classroom and then those final grades are entered into the Powerschool system. Parents should make sure to monitor both platforms for information.
Tech Tip #1: Missing Assignments Tab & Turning In Assignments
Field Goods Organic Local Produce
Want healthy, in season, farm fresh vegetables delivered to you each week? Want to support local farms? Want to support the middle school's Environmental Club?
FIELD GOODS IS YOUR ANSWER!
How it works:
- Go to the "Field Goods" website and select Rombout Middle School as your pickup location. (linked below)
- Choose your bag
- Checkout
- You will receive an automatic confirmation email reminding you that you have an order placed for that week and you will be notified of what items were ordered, the total, and when & where to pick up the bag!
What is in your bag?
Field Goods chooses the items delivered and purchases them directly from over 60 different Hudson Valley farms. The produce is delivered in bags that cost $16, $21, $27 or $32 per week, along with an informative newsletter. For customers who want to modify our pre-selected produce of the week, there is a Build Your Own Bag option!
What are the benefits of using Field Goods?
The service is year-round and the winter months include flash-frozen local produce as well as fresh. All of the produce is non-GMO, much is organic, and all are grown by small farms. $1.00 per order will go to benefit the Environmental club which is responsible for maintaining the new school vegetable garden.
Your subscriptions can be canceled/placed on hold anytime prior to your order deadline at no charge.
