Macleans Primary School Community
Hi Everyone
Three weeks into the term now and we have continued with such a positive start to Term 3. Thank you to our awesome community. The attendance at MPS is high and the response to the strongly suggested advice by the MoE and MPS Board of Trustees to wear masks until a further update by the 19 August is very much appreciated.
We did not have a large number of positive COVID cases in Term 2 and we are hoping for this to continue in Term 3. An email will continue to be sent to the class that has a positive COVID case IF that child may have been infectious whilst at school.
A reminder to all of us who pick up our children in the car afterschool to be patient and courteous. For the most part, the drop and pick up bays work well and keep the traffic moving. We are fortunate to have the drop off and pick spaces as many schools do not have these and the traffic can be challenging. After a few minutes Wycherley Drive is clear, but leading up to that please keep the Macleans Values in the fore-front of your mind! :)))
I am looking forward to a great day on Friday with the School Cross Country. Thanks to all the parents who are helping out and/or coming along to cheer on the children!
A reminder to always use the 'Message Clipped/View entire message' feature if it appears at the bottom of this email/newsletter as there is lots of information in this newsletter to share, so please have a good read and enjoy!
Regards & Nga Mihi.

Term 4 Out of Zone Enrolments
The Board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their child at Macleans Primary School starting in Term 4 (17 October - 15 December). Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available from the school office. Out of zone enrolment forms are available online and from the school office. Link HERE for enrolments.
The deadline for receipt of applications for out of zone places is 4pm, Tuesday 30 August.
Parents of students who live within the home zone should also apply by this date to assist the school to plan appropriately for Term 3.
The Board has determined that there are likely to be several places available for out of zone students for Term 3. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.
If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by a ballot. If this is required it will be held on Tuesday 6 September, and parents will be notified of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

All the best to Learning Assistant/Teacher Aide Carolyn Norris who is moving to a library support position at Baverstock Oaks in a couple of weeks, a school much closer to her home. We will certainly miss Carolyn's warmth and rapport she has with the children and teachers. We will also miss the wonderful creativity and artistic talent she has provided us all, most recently the crocheting ad knitting for staff!
