Boundary Review Information Night
Dear FPS Families:
Franklin Pierce Schools is in the process of reevaluating school boundary lines in order to even out enrollment levels and plan for future residential development in the area. This Spring, a Boundary Review Committee consisting of FPS families, community members and staff are looking at information about school enrollments, local population studies and new/anticipated building permits to make a recommendation to the Superintendent and School Board about new school boundary lines.
The committee will be refining the best options over the next 8 weeks and welcomes you to attend a VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE this Thursday, May 6 at 6:00pm, 6:45pm or 7:30pm to share more about the process, learn more about your ideas and concerns, and gather ideas about how to improve the options going forward.
We hope that you will consider joining us! To learn more and to sign up, visit www.fpschools.org/openhouse.
If you have questions, please email info@fpschools.org or call (253)298-3000.

Registration for the 2021-22 School Year:
Registration for new students enrolling in the 2021-22 school year is now open. We will be registering only new kindergarten through 5th grade students who live within our attendance boundaries, or have daycare in our area. Current students are automatically enrolled for next year, with the exception of overload students who will return to their home schools for 2021-22. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years of age by August 31, 2021. All registrations will be done on-line at www.fpschools.org . Click on the red "Enrollment" circle, then click "Enroll for 2021-22", and complete the registration paperwork. Enrollees must attach a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residence during the registration process.
Midland wants to STOP Covid at the door!
Just a reminder that you need to complete a health screening questionnaire EVERY morning by 8:30 am. This survey will come to your email, but you can also set it up to be sent as a text to your phone, for easy completion. If you have not filled out the form, your child will not be allowed to enter class until we have heard from you to answer questions, and have your child's temperature taken. Please see the button below for specific information regarding the Daily Health Check, as well as what to do if you are having trouble receiving the email.
PLEASE do your part before school, so that your child can go to class when they arrive.
- Students will be required to wear a mask on the bus, in the halls, in class, and at recess.
- Students will wash hands and use hand sanitizer throughout the day.
- Students will sit 6 feet apart in the classroom.
If your child has been exposed to COVID, or if they are showing symptoms of illness, you may not send them to school until they have been quarantined and symptom free for 14 days. Teachers will provide work for students during this time. We are counting on everyone to keep Midland safe for all students and staff. Thank you!
Midland PTA Needs YOU!
The PTA is a group of parents and family members who meet for an hour once a month. They create ideas for activities and provide support to our classrooms. PTA can be a very FUN opportunity! While the past few years we have focused on fundraisers, it woud be great to have more familiy activities and celebrations. We want to focus on more family involvement and non-traditional events which celebrate cultures and supports for families.
If you are interested, please email Mrs. Dawson (pdawson@fpschools.org) or call the school office. Training is provided and there is lots of support for our PTA.
Thank you in advance for considering how you can participate and keep our PTA!
