History
Stevie Wonder started playing music very young. At age 11 he signed with Motown and by age 13 he had his first #1 single and album Fingertips Part 2. Stevie Wonder is consisderd to be the youngest person and many people call him a child prodigy.
At age 21 Stevie Wonder broke away from Motown, because he demaded artistc freedom. Since than he has made many impressive albums, like Talking Book and Higher Ground reaching many top charts. In 1973, he was the first Black person to win a Grammy for Album of the Year. Stevie Wonder was thought to create and contribute to the R&B, Soul genre, he added new aspects and ideas for many generations to come.
He has won 24 Grammys, a Academy Award, and Golden Globe award. In 1996, he won Grammy LIfetime Acheivement Award. Stevie Wonder was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. He was the youngest solo artist to achevie such a great honor.
Besides music, Stevie Wonder is a humanitatrian supporting many charitys. He campaigned for Barack Obama during his 2012 Presidental election.
