Off to a Great Start

Students have been visiting the library each week and we have established rules and procedures, but we need your help. Please check your child's backpack and help them be responsible with their library books. Books are due back on their checkout day, help them establish a routine to get their books back each week. We want good books in their hands as often as we can.

October Book Club

Parents, you can visit this website, commonsensemedia.org to check out these two books that are appropriate for this age level, but a little bit scary.

Big image

Moose Flanagan lives on Alcatraz and carries the weight of the world on his young shoulders. His dad has been promoted to assistant warden, his sister is misunderstood, and his mother constantly needs his help. One night in 1936 a fire breaks out in Moose’s apartment; he must find the arsonist to release his sister of the blame. With the help of his gang and Al Capone he solves a bigger problem involving his dad.
