What Can You Do in an Hour and a Half? A Tale of Three Teams, in Three Rooms, With Twelve Tasks!
Our Day's Overview
Here is a culmination of all the projects you all accomplished throughout the morning. This was awesome! I feel fortunate to work with such a great crew of innovative and thoughtful educators!
Enjoy!
The Teams
Blue Room Exhibits
Storybird Prediction: The Mystery of the School on the Hill
Task: Write a witty, creative story stating who committed the Mystery at LaCreole, along with what was absconded and where this travesty took place.
Tool: Storybird and Google Classroom
The stories speak for themselves. Impressive what a group could come up with given a minimal amount of time using a new tool. Awesome results!
The History of a Teacher's Summer
Tool: My Maps and Google Classroom
Each teacher contributed the following details about themselves:
One cool thing they did or place visited this summer.
A digital representation of said cool thing (video clip, audio clip, or image (downloaded or original)
The date of their cool experience.
They then used My Maps to highlight their journeys with pictures and interesting facts.
Looked like some fun trips!
Make Believe
Tool: Adobe Spark and Google Classroom
What do you think? Is Bigfoot real? Or is it just a tall tale?
Teams created a one-page essay providing claims and evidence to support their stance on the big fella. They then could add video or photos to make their project visually appealing using Adobe Spark a fee online site.
For the amount of time they had on this final group task, they did a great job!
Green Room Exhibits
Weary Travelers

Speed and Braking
Tools: USA BMX Bikes (built and decorated by teammates) stop watch, and Google Classroom
We put our BMX kits to good use with some mathematical application! This was fun to watch!

Long Exposure Photo Robot Challenge
Task: Create a light painting with Sphero.
Sphero, LongExpo App and Google Classroom
Teams created a light painting using a sphero robot and a long exposure camera app. They needed to problem solve using multiple devices, programing their robot to travel a course while they filmed. The result...IMPRESSIVE!
Save the Drama For Your Diorama
Tool(s): Storybird, Littlebits, YouTube, and Google Classroom
One additional challenge!!
Using Littlebits, create a burglar alarm system integrated into their diorama as a means to deter this sort of tomfoolery from happening again!!
Their videos were uploaded to YouTube and are linked below! This was a fun task to watch. We have a very creative staff!
The Last and Final Task: The Big Reveal!
Let's Recap!
Tool: Letsrecap app and Google Classroom
