Message from the Principal
Hello RLE learning community!!
Can you believe we only have 5 school days left in April?? We were so busy this month that the time just flew by!! I hope you all were able to enjoy some down time with your loved ones during the spring break. We love that everyone came back to school recharged and ready to finish up this school year strong!
We certainly hope you and your children enjoyed the virtual field trips and cultural performances in March and April. We are so proud to have been able to bring these wonderful educational experiences to the RLE learning community!
Our students are AMAZING!! Please click here to check out their innovative work submitted for the Earth Day Contest! Our students' commitment to keeping our environment as clean as it can be is impressive!! Winners and runners up - prizes will be delivered to your front door sometime this weekend so keep an eye out for a green bag of goodies!
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3rd - 7th. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help during this week!! We have a couple great ideas for the week. One I would like to highlight is our RLE Teacher Appreciation Button designed by one of our students! We have many artists in the RLE and had creative designs to choose from. Henry WN in 3rd grade designed the winning entry that was turned into a button for our magnificent teachers. It looks great!! (see below for a picture) Our committee is currently finalizing our plans and I will share them with you next week.
Lastly, next WEDNESDAY - April 28th - is another SPIRIT DAY in the RLE. So come to class dressed as your favorite HERO or SUPERHERO!! It's going be fun!!
As always, please reach out when the time is right to share any suggestions or concerns. My electronic “door” is always open! 😉
Stay safe and be well,
Suzy

Connecticut River Museum’s STEAMgirls Virtual Programs
(NOTE: this is for girls ages 10-16 only - i.e. some of our RLE 4th and 5th graders)
The Connecticut River Museum’s STEAMgirls Program is a virtual program to serve girls, ages 10-16, interested in studying the academic areas of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Thanks to a generous grant through The Petit Family Foundation, they are able to offer this program free of charge. Once monthly after school for a four-month period, STEAMgirls participants meet and speak with accomplished young women, learning first-hand about the career successes women are experiencing in all areas of STEAM; providing young girls with knowledge that may ignite their passion for the future.
