Reduce
Smaller the Better
What is to "Reduce"?
Reduce is when you use a smaller or less amount, degree, or size
Examples:
Reduce the amount of packaging by purchasing concentrates and diluting them with water in reusable containers.
What can you reduce?
- Bring reusable bags and containers when shopping, traveling, etc.
- Compost food scraps and yard waste.
- Reduce the amount of unwanted mail you receive.
- Buy items made of recycled content.
Why is reducing important?
Not only does it cost a lot of money, energy, natural resources to manufacture and transfer new products. It's costs a lot of money to transfer and process these products once we're done with them. The more waste we put on our ground, the more our landfills release harmful things that can harm us and the environment.
Simply waste causes changes in the environment, more money, energy, and natural resources. Making small changes in our everyday lives can make a difference in the health of all living things.
