Google Chrome Extensions
Learning about extensions and how to use them
Issue #1
What are extensions?
Extensions are small software programs that can modify and enhance the functionality of the Chrome browser. You write them using web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Chrome Web Store
Click here to go to the Chrome Web Store.
This is where you can find apps and extensions to add to Google Chrome. I'm going to be doing a series on Google Extensions so you can learn about different ones to use for home and school.
Where can I find my extensions?
Extensions are found on the right side of the screen when you open Google Chrome (see below).
How do I turn them off/on?
Select the 3 bars on the far right side of the screen under the X.
Click More Tools.
Extensions
Check box next to Enabled turn it on/off.
Trash can deletes it.
Organizing Extensions
Context Extension
This extension can be used to organize your extensions into categories. Once you start adding more and more extensions to your Chrome browser, you might not be able to remember what they are used for if you don't use them often. Using Context to organize them helps you keep them in categories that make them easier to find and use.
