Deer Creek Academy
DC Academy has two options for students that are looking for an alternative to the traditional high school experience.
DC Academy Alternative School: The Deer Creek Academy Alternative School is an innovative program structured to serve students who would benefit from a customized education in a smaller, wrap-around supportive setting. We offer block scheduling, smaller class sizes, direct instruction, credit recovery, counseling, and other services. Our goal is to provide a pathway to success for all students.
At Deer Creek Academy, we believe each student has the potential for success and should be afforded the opportunity to learn in an environment suited to their needs. Students who attend the DC Academy WANT to be here and have undergone an application process to ensure this is the best fit for them. The Academy operates on a system of mutual respect in an atmosphere of kindness and support. Students often come to DCA from difficult situations and backgrounds making a traditional high school environment challenging. The Academy provides extra services and counseling to assist students in earning their high school diploma and becoming healthy individuals in all aspects of life.Deer Creek Academy serves students that are at risk of not graduating from high school. This can be for various reasons such as, but not limited to, attendance issues, credit deficiencies, behavior difficulties, pregnancy or parenting, involvement with the court system, and/or dropouts (seeking to get back into school to obtain a high school diploma).
22-23 DC Academy Alt. Ed. Application
DC Academy VIrtual School: Virtual and blended learning is a great option for many high school students but may not be the right fit for all. Students and their families should plan carefully when deciding on a virtual learning option. Virtual and blended learning will be available for students in grades 9-12 through the Deer Creek Academy. Students should be self-motivated and able to work independently with strong family support. It is our goal to ensure that all students who are accepted to the DC Virtual Program are successful in this environment. It is important to take note of and consider the expectations listed below before submitting the application.
Weekly participation and consistent work submission is required of all virtual students. Non-participation will result in recorded absences and may result in the removal of the student from the DC Virtual Program.Unit tests, post-tests, and final exams are required to be taken in person on the DC Academy campus.
Virtual coursework requires a semester commitment. If accepted into the Deer Creek Virtual program, students will remain in the program for at least one semester before a change of placement is considered.22-23 DC VIrtual Student Application
Families wishing to apply for either program can submit an application using the links below. If you would like more information, please contact Stephen Buck at stephenbuck@dcsok.org or Andrea Carpenter at andreacarpenter@dcsok.org

Deer Creek Communication Platform
Deer Creek School District is embarking on a new communication platform to include a Deer Creek App that is designed to enable parents, staff and students to stay informed and up-to-date on events, important issues, general information, emergency notifications and site based activities. The Deer Creek App will work conjointly with the SchoolMessenger App (registration only required one time) as a notification system. Once a parent has registered with the SchoolMessenger App, they will only need to use the Deer Creek App for all things Deer Creek!
