A Message from Mrs. Freeman (School Nurse):
Clothing Reminder
Attention families of Kindergarten, First and Second grade students:
Students are required to keep a complete change of clothing (shirt, pants, underwear and socks) in their book bags at all times. There are many reasons for students needing to change clothing outside of having bathroom accidents. Some examples would be spilling their water bottle, food, milk, glue or paint onto their clothing or getting into mud and rain puddles on the playground. The nurse’s office is very limited on the sizes available for students to change into. Students also feel more comfortable in their own clothing instead of borrowed clothing. Please make sure that the clothing is appropriate for the season.
To All Families:
If your child has borrowed clothing from the health room, please wash and return the items immediately so that others may use them if needed. Look for notices in your child’s take home folders or book bag if they have borrowed clothing and have not returned it.

SUPPORT YOU FAMILY'S WELL-BEING
DEAR FAMILIES,
We are committed to the well-being of our students, staff, and families to create a safe and healthy learning environment. In support of our ongoing commitment, we partnered with Care Solace to provide an additional layer of care for our community.
Care Solace helps individuals find mental health care providers and substance use treatment centers. Their Care CompanionTM team is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year to quickly connect you to carefully verified providers in your community.
Students, staff, and families may access Care Solace services in two ways:
- Call (888) 515-0595 at any time. Support is available in 200+ languages. A dedicated Care Companion will help you every step of the way to research options, secure appointments, and follow up to make sure it is a good fit.
- For an anonymous search, answer a few questions to get matched with an extensive list of care providers at www.caresolace.com/bermudian.
Care Solace is now available for use at no cost to you. They will connect you with providers accepting all medical insurances including Medicaid, Medicare, and sliding scale options for those without insurance. All information entered on the Care Solace tool is completely confidential and securely stored.
Please note, this service is an optional resource available by choice and is not mandatory to use. Care Solace is not an emergency response service or mental health services provider. In the event of a life threatening emergency, please call 9-1-1 or the National Suicide Hotline 1-800-273-8255.
If you are interested in counseling-related services for your child, yourself, or another family member, please contact Care Solace for valuable assistance. This is a complimentary resource provided by Bermudian Springs School District.
Second Step Lessons
Linked are the Homelink pages that accompany Second Step lessons taught in the classroom. These pages provide information on what skill was taught, as well as how families can further support or strengthen at home what they learned. It is not necessary to do anything with it, but we want to be transparent about what our program is teaching. Please note that not all lessons have Homelink pages, but we'll always share what topics are being covered. If you have more specific questions you can always contact your child's classroom teacher.

SEPTEMBER MENUS
Principal's Message
"Community is much more than belonging to something; it's about doing something together that makes belonging matter."
-Brian Solis
Dear Parents and Families,
This year Bermudian Springs Elementary School will focus on providing more opportunities to promote, increase and support parent knowledge and involvement in the educational process of their child(ren), both socially and academically. By increasing the opportunities for parents and community members to be involved, Bermudian Springs Elementary School strives to strengthen the partnership between the parents of the school and the community it serves. Parent and Community Involvement efforts will be evaluated yearly and adjustments will be made to continue to improve parent, community, and school relations. Several actionable steps have been identified for the 22-23 school year to increase our Parent and Community Involvement at Bermudian Springs Elementary School:
Increase the quality and quantity of opportunities for parents to be involved throughout the year.
Inform parents of the Parent Community Involvement Plan.
Increase the amount of feedback from parents and community members through the use of surveys, conferences, and school-wide planning meetings.
Provide ongoing communication to parents on school and community happenings. This will be done through the BSES S’more newsletter distributed via Sapphire Notification System, monthly teacher communication focused on curriculum and classroom happenings, Title I School-wide Planning/PTO Meetings, Family Fun Night events, Parent/Teacher Conferences, social media (Twitter: @BSES_Eagles Facebook: BermudianSpringsElementarySchool), and posted events via Peachjar.
The Back to School Bash was one of the first opportunities for parents to be involved for the 22-23 school year. This event was a HUGE success. It was wonderful to see so many families participating. My goal is to continue this momentum throughout the school year. Our next Parent and Community Involvement effort will be on September 21st. On that evening we will be cutting the ribbon for our new playground with the help of our SOAR Ambassadors. Our September PTO meeting will follow. We would love to see our parents attend both events!
I would love to hear your ideas on additional ways we can work together to support the students at Bermudian Springs Elementary School!
Learn Together, Grow Together!
