- Tuesday, April 7
- Thursday, April 9
Updated Schedule
- Testing periods are now 80 minutes compared to the 75-minutes last year.
- Monday's schedule is a normal schedule with the exception of 8th Grade. They will now complete their Science test that day.
- Pancake breakfast schedule has been modified so 8th Grade can eat first and then test after.
- 6th-8th Grade will complete their other tests Tuesday-Friday.
- We have placed the LA/Writing test over 2 days. There's a hard break in between the two tests. Last year this was the test where the most amount of students needed extended time.
- Conditions for Learning has been taken off the schedule for Monday. More information will follow.
Continuing Information
3rd Quarter Spotlight Student Awards
As we approach the end of the 3rd Quarter, it's time to begin thinking of names for your next Spotlight Student. If you have a student in mind, please follow the links below to the documents that will give you a view of all students selected this year, in addition to the Google Form and Sheet to record names.
Nehwhr Follow-up
If you're a returning staff member, please look for your Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory. The picture on the right shows you what it looks like. If you're a new staff member, I've put the request for you to access this. This will be an electronic copy for you.
B-O-L-T-S Progress Monitoring Sheet
Please remember, the Bolts Progress Monitoring sheet is NOT the intervention. The intervention is the positive and corrective feedback that is provided to the student consistently throughout the day from you. On the back of the progress monitoring sheets are ways you can provide positive feedback using the CICO with the identified student. Not only will this assist in relationship building it will help with the transition when the student returns into Tier 1 supports. Again, please remember the intervention is the conversations and positive feedback that is occurring every time you are filling out the progress monitoring sheet with the student, and they are aware of the expectations of your classroom. The goal of CICO is to not only provide additional support for the identified students but to also to help find the gaps that may need added instruction within the behavior area to help them become more successful in the school setting. Please be prepared to give students the honest feedback, especially on periods when they haven’t met the expectation; I understand those conversations can be difficult but serves as a critical piece in the intervention and allows the student to understand how they can grow and meet that expectation the next day.
Google Learning
The Digital Literacy Team is excited to announce that Google in partnership with CRCSD is rolling out Getting Started with Google for Education program. This is a quick and easy way to learn more about the Google for Education tools. Here's how it works:
- Sign up using this form -- it only takes seconds.
- You will receive an email from Google for the next 8 Tuesdays with tutorials on the Google for Education tools.
- The learning will cover Google for Education tools: Classroom, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc...
- Tutorials will be video/simulation-based and take less than 15 minutes to complete.
Communicating Expectations
With the break, it's important to review expectations-both in and out of the classroom. Be sure to take time with your students about entering and exiting procedures. Use our CHAMPS structure to communicate expectations when working in the classroom.
Hoodies & Cell Phones
To ensure we're all being consistent enforcing school rules, please be sure to remind students of our no cell phones and no hoodies. The only exception with the hoodies would be if a student has had a conversation with an Administrator and communication has gone out to excuse it for a day.Classroom Passes Reminders
- Passes should not be given to students within the first 5 minutes of the class period. Students should use their passing time or wait for class to begin before asking to leave the classroom.
- Students need to have their hard cover passes with them when leaving the classroom. This hard cove pass must also include the appropriate destination placard of their destination.
