It's A Great Day to Be a Cardinal!
August 26-30
Dear Parents and Guardians,
What a fantastic first week we had! The students seemed excited to be back with their teachers and friends. It was great to see their excitement and energy. The week was filled with team building and getting to know you activities as they adjusted to their schedules and routines.
This week students will be taking the Pro-Core A assessment. This is given to assess what the students know about the content they will be learning this year.
Have a great week and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thriving Learning Communities
Letter Sent Home with Students on Friday
August 23, 2019
Dear Cardinal Families,
I am writing to let you know that we have begun a new program, Thriving Learning Communities that offers lessons focused on your child’s strengths and development of social and emotional learning skills. We are just getting started and will be exploring how our individual strengths can help us feel good about ourselves, strengthen friendships and reach our goals.
Watch for tips and suggestions every couple of weeks on how you can team up with us as we work together to support the social, emotional, and academic growth of your child. For example, over the next few weeks it would be a great time for you to ask your child about his or her strengths and how they are using them each day. Ask your child to teach you some of the “strengths language” they are beginning to learn.
Here are a few questions to get you started:
What are some of the strengths?
What does optimism mean?
What is strength spotting?
You could discuss with them how they think their own strengths help them at home and at school.
I am excited about taking a strengths- based approach with your child this school year. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Mrs. Hiler
Attention 7th and 12th Grade Parents!

7th grade- TDap and Meningicoccal (MCV4) vaccination.
12th grade- Meningicoccal (MCV4) vaccination.
Please read the information below if you would like to take advantage of the clinic coming to the school on September 6th for your child to receive the vaccinations.

Please take a moment to review the student handbook with your child. The handbook covers important information on electronics, appropriate dress and other topics related to school. The link to the handbook can be found below.

Charge the Chromebooks!
Please make sure your child gets in the habit of charging their chrome books each evening. It is important that they come to school prepared and the chrome books are as important to class as bringing paper and pencils. They will need their computers to fully participate in instruction in most classes.
Final Forms
If you and/or your child haven't had the opportunity to complete your final forms please try to update them as soon as possible.
