ARTS IN COMMUNITY EDUCATION AT LCS
The mission of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Arts in Community Education (ACE) Program is to advance children’s learning and development by connecting students, teachers, school communities, and professional artists through engaging arts experiences and an integrated arts curriculum.
The Arts in Community Education Program (ACE) of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra has been a pioneer in education since 1990. Serving southeastern Wisconsin, it is one of the largest, most well-respected, and longest-running initiatives of its kind in the country. ACE has impacted tens of thousands of students and teachers and dozens of schools.
Even though ACE is a program of the Milwaukee Symphony, it embraces all the arts: dance and movement, drama, visual arts, spoken word, and every genre of music. The classic ACE program begins in K5 and adds a grade level each successive year until fully integrated at 5th grade. ACE teaches students concepts by moving them (sometimes quite literally) with the arts.
ACE PROGRAM GOALS
- ACE will foster an environment for enhanced student learning through arts integration.
- ACE will inspire student excellence and creative expression through high-quality arts experiences.
- ACE will support the development of the whole child by nurturing a sensitivity to art and beauty
- ACE will support teachers’ use of arts integration practices to strengthen their abilities to become more effective, creative, and well-rounded educators.
- ACE will broaden perspectives by connecting students, teachers, school communities, and professional artists through novel arts opportunities.
Our 5K-5th-grade students enjoy ACE performances throughout the school year.

OPEN ENROLLMENT 2023-2024
The inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside. The regular open enrollment application period for the 2023-24 school year begins on February 6, 2023, and ends at 4:00 pm on April 28, 2023. The best way to apply is online, the online application is available at https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment during the application period.
Once a pupil is attending a nonresident school district under open enrollment, the pupil may continue to attend that district without re-application. Lake Country School students do not need to re-apply for open enrollment until they are ready to attend Arrowhead High School or another school district.
INCOMING NEW 4 & 5 YEAR-OLDS
We are searching for ALL three and four year old future students in the Lake Country District. If you have, or are aware of a three or four year old in the district who will be 4 or 5 years old by September 1st, 2023, please have the parents contact Amy Adkins at adkinsa@mylakecountryschool.org or call (262) 367-3606 ext. 115. If you have children attending Lake Country School already, please don't assume we know about all younger siblings. We want to make sure we contact every eligible child before our Open House in March!
