Reminders, Reminders, Reminders... 1) Everyone, please be on time, everywhere! Things happen, but they do not happen everyday. Be on time for work, be on time for arrival and pickup for lunch, music, PE, library, end of the day walkers and bus riders and car riders dismissals. Every schedule is important to keep things running smoothly. Do your absolute best to be where you should be at the correct time. 2) Our continual issue is "we do not have enough time to ...." so please do not squander the precious time you do have by being late to pick up students or standing and visiting or waiting at the restrooms or staying on the playground longer than scheduled. If you have problems with your schedule working, talk to me or Suzanne and we will try our best to help you work it out. 3) Our campus plan (and good teacher common sense!) says that we will re-teach behavior expectations at the beginning of the semester, so that would be the first week in January! Please take the time to thoroughly review/reteach and you will hopefully be rewarded with less disruptions as the semester progresses. Plus, we will probably have some new students that will benefit from this as well.
Thank you for all the fun this week during our Tacky Sweater district contest and our campus Mouse Hunt! I hope everyone enjoys their prizes! Thank you to the helpers for getting tables and chairs put out and picked up in record time for our performances, and a huge thank you to Kayla and Cameron, Misty, Krista & Evelyn for a wonderful Holiday Concert.

Water Well for Africa
Dunbar and Brandon will participate in a joint community service (our worldwide community!) project to hopefully raise enough money to have a well built in an African village where clean water will literally change lives. The PInk Zebra fundraiser will be the first schoolwide fundraiser, from January 7-17. We will have some ambassadors of the program on campus the first week back to talk to students and do presentations and we are hoping to have Ms. Jackie from Uganda return to visit with the children.
Responsive Classroom and Conscious Discipline follow so many of the same philosophies. Take a look at this article from RC about the importance of even subtle word choice adjustments and think about how it can help you in the new year.
Math Professional Development and Resources
Greg Tang Math is a great resource for both teaching stratgies and ideas and games for students to play online. We are using some of the online games for Tier 2 math intervention, but you can also use them with your class. Click here to check out the site!
